Audio Nomad evolved as a result of a four-year research & development programme into the creative and technological potentials of immersive and location sensitive audio.

Audio Nomad was jointly supported by the Australian Research Council and the Australia Council for the Arts (2003-2007), under the "Synapse" scheme that encourages Art and Science collaborations.

Technology demonstrators have been publicly presented on the Baltic Sea and Sydney Harbour.
